Dayne lives in Avondale where his family has resided since 1961, but spent his school years growing up in Taranaki. Of mixed Samoan, Cook Island and European heritage, Dayne founded the I Love Avondale community development project in 2014. Today, he works full time as a Community Development Manager with Kainga Ora, and is the part time Storytelling Coordinator for I Love Avondale, which includes a separate contract with Eke Panuku Development Auckland. Dayne also has a background in writing content for hip hop outlets and analysing content for Isentia. Dayne sits on the boards of Rosebank School and the Kindness Collective, has a BA from the University of Auckland and is a father to three kids with his partner Katy.
