Pastor Stephen Mataia

Stephen Mataia is married to Judy and is a father to three sons: Noah, Jared & Jesse. A primary school teacher by trade Stephen has spent the last 21 years at Unitec working in bridging education, academic support, Pacific student support, Maori & Pacific Pre-Police training, and currently, the Police Studies online programme. Since March 2017 he has been the Senior Pastor at the Word of Life Church in Henderson. Alongside more than two decades of youth work through the church, Stephen has been involved in grass roots sports and has coached various school and club rugby teams, and more recently, American football. He is passionate about building community through faith and sport.
