Community Waitakere - Auckland, New Zealand

Connected, thriving and sustainable communities are shaped and supported by connected, thriving and sustainable community organisations. Local community organisations require ongoing education and capability building to realise positive outcomes in the context of the complex social, economic and environmental challenges our communities face.

Community Waitakere provide various community education opportunities including hosting regular capability training courses. Designed specifically for community organisations, not-for-profit groups and individuals working within the social sector, these courses provide an easy, affordable and effective way to ensure that you and your staff have the necessary skills to be effective in your community.

Our training courses are facilitated by professional, independent trainers and the selection of courses is steered by Community Waitakere’s approach to community mentoring and capability building. We host two training courses per month, on Tuesdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the Waitakere Community Resource Centre, 8 Ratanui Street, Henderson.

What are your training needs?

We aim to be responsive to communities’ training needs as they arise. Our aim is to identify where there are gaps in training provision for community groups, and provide training focussed specifically for community groups at affordable prices.
