Community Waitakere is committed to creating, educating and advocating for healthy environments. We also believe that communities should be able to play a lead role in conservation and building sustainable connected communities.

Community development and environmental restoration should be inextricably linked. Local groups need a chance to connect with their local environment and to form a different kind of relationship with the neighbourhood in which they live. 

This increase in awareness and consciousness of how we are living and the impact we are having on our environment and the connections and sense of belonging that is fostered in community can have a powerful and positive impact on us all.
