Welcome to Community WaitakereStrengthening the links for sustainable community development Throughout Waitakere City many community groups, organisations, individuals, businesses and government bodies are working to build thriving communities and a healthy environment. Community Waitakere strengthens the links between these groups by promoting and modelling collaboration and partnering, enhancing networking and communication, developing projects and helping to foster collective visions of positive change in Waitakere City. Community Waitakere is a community development organisation committed to achieving strong, dynamic, sustainable community and voluntary sectors in Waitakere City. Community Waitakere seeks to interweave our organisational values of leadership, partnering, innovation, teamwork and excellence with our principles of partnership, sustainability and community-led sustainable development. Community Waitakere is a member of the New Zealand Council of Social Services and works on behalf of the community and voluntary sectors in Waitakere. We also have a strong historical relationship and partnering agreement with the Waitakere City Council.
