Community Waitakere works in the following ways: Inform: We provide a daily e-Noticeboard on not-for-profit related matters to a network of over 250 community organisations within Waitakere and the wider Auckland region Advocate: We advocate on local community development issues Broker: We facilitate networking, information sharing and planning among community organisations and local communities in Waitakere City Lead: We provide leadership, project development, coordination and capacity-building skills and expertise for a variety of collaborative projects in Waitakere City, including: Community Economic Development: We are a lead organisation in facilitating Community Economic Development in New Zealand The Incubator: We are developing a space where social entrepreneurs can connect with one another to thrive The Resource Centre: We manage the Waitakere Community Resource Centre, providing low cost offices and meeting space for a range of community organisations. The Funding Information Hub: We provide information on funding and sustainability to not-for-profit organisations Project Twin Streams: We are the contracting organisation for Project Twin Streams Henderson Creek and provide leadership support to the five Project Twin Streams contracting organisations.
