SKIP – new website launched to support positive parenting |
A website that provides information and inspiration for those who work alongside parents was launched in late April by the SKIP team (Strategies for Kids – Information for Parents) from Family and Community Services. SKIP is a government funded initiative that supports parents and whanau to guide their children’s behaviour in a positive way. The website, www.skip.org.nz offers useful advice, ideas about how to run successful SKIP events and free resources that parents can use, especially in its Strategies for Parents section.

StoryTime is a non profit trust that has been delivering books to families in Auckland since 1997. The aim of the trust is to encourage strong families through storytime as the medium to develop strong bonds between parents and new born children From the time a child is born reading to the babies develops a real bond between parent and child. The idea of having a child sitting on your knee reading to them in that special Snuggle me cuddle me time. Reading to your child is a special time. Time to cuddle, time to snuggle and special time. Storytime needs your help to make sure that every family has the opportunity to enjoy this time with their new born baby.
