Do you think people should be able to vote?Right now hundreds of thousands of people won't be able to vote in the upcoming local elections. They may have turned 18, moved house and not told ElectionsNZ or not enrolled yet. None of these people will be sent their local elections voting papers in the mail.
ElectionsNZ need your help to make sure as many people as possible can have their say.

Local elections are not far away, so its important that people are correctly enrolled to vote. Elections New Zealand are in the process of an enrolment drive for the local elections, and given the importance of the upcoming elections, please make sure that you and anyone you know are enrolled. The deadline is Friday 20th August. Go to http://www.elections.org.nz/ to find out more.
The New Auckland Council
On 1 November 2010 a new Auckland Council will come into existence replacing the current eight councils in the Auckland region. The Auckland Council website can help you understand how the change to a single council affects you. It also contains detailed information on the 2010 local body elections.
