The Secretary role is a key position in the Governance of any NGO, and for MECOSS this role comprises the following: • Attendance and taking Minutes at the MECOSS Governing Committee meetings, held bi-monthly for approximately 1 - 1.5 hours • Assistance with the review of funding applications • Liaison with MECOSS staff and Chairperson • Assistance with planning and fulfilling objectives of MECOSS • Assistance from time to time with meetings/events MECOSS, the MANUKAU EAST COUNCIL OF SOCIAL SERVICES INC. is an umbrella organisation providing networking opportunities; educational updates, advocacy and capacity building for social service providers in the Manukau East region of Auckland. We are part of a Regional and National NGO organisation, which has strong connections to Government departments and policy development in New Zealand. We are actively involved with better provision of Health Support and Social Services to the people of Manukau East.
