The deadline for submissions for the Draft Auckland Plan have been extended by 6 days - the new deadline is 4pm on 31st October.  Please see the article here.

Community Waitakere co-hosted a community forum with Auckland Council on 7th October to consider the Draft Auckland Plan.  The forum was attended by approximately 50 community organisations,  who engaged actively with the presentation and the discussions which followed.

The overwhelming concern expressed was the timeframe for both the preparation of submissions and the hearing process.  The participants requested that Community Waitakere write a letter to the Auckland Future Vision Committee which is meeting on the 19th October and request that the Committee extends the closing date for submissions by an additional month (to 25th Nov) and extends the hearings timeframes accordingly.

Community Waitakere is currently preparing our submission to the draft Auckland Plan and will be posting it on our website when complete.  We encourage you all to make submissions before the new closing date of 31st October 2011.
