Disability training directory now live.

Disability Workforce Development within Te Pou and Vocational and Support Services (VASS) are pleased to announce that their new online disability training directory is now live.

The directory provides a central place for the disability sector to access relevant training information and aims to support the development of the workforce, consumers, and family/whanau.

Whether you want to search by location or training type, the directory is simple, easy to use and is the first of its kind in New Zealand.  The directory contains a range of training that focuses on subjects such as leadership development (including consumer leadership development) cultural responsiveness and diversity, disability awareness and service development, national NZQA certificates and diplomas, safety, quality and evaluation.

Yellow Desk or Counter Cards Available from The National Foundation for the Deaf

Please find attached a photo of a yellow desk or counter card that encourages people who are hearing impaired to advise in support of better communication. On the back of the card (which is the white card displayed in the
attached photo) is a message to staff members advising on how to effectively communicate with a person who is hearing impaired.

We have been granted funds by the ASB Charitable Trust to circulate these cards in the wider Auckland region and ask if your organisation would like us to send you one or more of these cards, at no cost to your organisation.  For orders please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
