Our Amazing Place Community Treasure Hunts, events that get neighbours together to identify and celebrate local treasures, continue to flourish throughout west Auckland. The Our Amazing Place concept was developed from an event that ran in Pt Chevalier, Auckland. Violence Free Waitakere were gifted the concept and, with the support and input of Community Waitakere, held an initial pilot in MacLaren Park Henderson South in 2010. Community Waitakere, Violence Free Waitakere and Massey Matters went on to run the inaugural treasure hunt event for the Massey community in 2011.

These treasure hunts have since run throughout West Auckland and New Zealand.
