Community Developer – Community Organisations

The Community Developer will support the capacity and capability of community organisations and community practitioners in West Auckland with a focus on emerging leaders of small for-good organisations.

The key responsibility will be to plan and implement the Community Waitākere Future Proofing programme.

Does this excite you?

You will have the exciting opportunity to develop and manage the new Community Waitākere Future Proofing programme which aims to increase the capability of leaders of organisations in our community.

You will also be part of setting the future direction and looking for further opportunities for Community Waitakere to support the capability and capacity of the community sector.

What are we looking for?

You will have experience navigating the nuances of community development mahi and the complexity of relationships that come with the territory. You will have a sound and up-to-date knowledge of community development practice informed by recent research and theories.

This role requires a person adept in navigating relationships, ability to see beyond a programme into a wider future and empathy to relate to people from multiple backgrounds, organisations and with different goals.
