Bridging the Generational Gap

Listening, learning, and leading together across generations

Our recent Bridging the Generational Gap workshop proved to be a powerful addition to our He Kete Rauemi series, sparked by community feedback looking for opportunities to explore cross-generational understanding. With a panel representing Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z perspectives, alongside thoughtful kōrero and group activities, the session created an open and courageous space for sharing lived experiences. Participants consistently highlighted the importance of respect, listening, and inclusion, offering honest reflections on how each generation navigates communication, challenges, and change. The insights gathered not only shaped the subsequent report but also reaffirmed the value of working collaboratively to broaden our perspectives, strengthen community connections, and plan for a future where every generation feels heard and able to contribute meaningfully.
