Environmental Restoration Coordinator
Location: Henderson, Hikurangi West Auckland 
Position Type: Full-time (1 FTE) 

Community Waitākere has a vision of a Hikurangi West Auckland where all communities flourish. We focus on building flourishing environments - one person, one neighbourhood and one community at a time. We do this through capacity and capability building, community and neighbourhood development, providing support services, sector leadership and advocating for and demonstrating the value of the community sector. Our focus areas are social and community development, local environmental projects, and climate action. 

Are you passionate about taiao and regenerating te whenua? Community Waitākere is looking for an energetic and capable Environmental Restoration Coordinator to join our team.

Your work will contribute to enhancing and deepening peoples understanding of, and connection to their local environment and each other. You will support a range of taiao-focused activities including wetland/stream restoration, environmental regeneration and pest animal control. You will also bring your own ideas and approaches to help further positive outcomes for our community.

We’re looking for someone with practical experience across any combination of areas including ecological restoration/regeneration, pest animal management and ecological environmental maintenance.

Ideally you will be confident working within kaupapa Māori contexts and building trusted relationships with iwi, hapū, and a diverse range of community groups. Strong communication and a flexible, collaborative approach are key.
